Who Are We?
My name is CJ Whillock (on left) and many years ago a group of friends and I began visiting Dive bars in our area because ..... as you know .. they are the best. From those travels a Facebook page grew and now this web site. We want to celebrate everything Dive Bar so we are traveling the USA visiting these hidden gems and sharing their stories with you.
Van Life, Woodcarving & Dive Bars!
What a combination ... right? IN 2021 my family and I had some life altering events and long story short .... I bought a VAN! My mother used to tell me "Life is short ... Enjoy it!" so that is what I'm going to try to do. I own 2 web sites, a business site … WhittlingShack.com and my fun web site … DiveBarRoadTrip.com ….. As I travel I will be updating my Facebook Page and putting the woodcarvings I create and other items I find up for sale on eBay to help with family and life expenses. Throughout our travels, one thing has been made apparent: the local mom & pop shops we have grown to love are dying. Times are tough for all small business, but keeping these local bars operating is very important for our communities. Many of these businesses serve as a local meeting place, a place to work, restaurants, and so on and so forth. Help us help them by promoting your local dive and supporting others around the country!
